Today we have Teresa Smith visiting Paranormal Addicts. We are lucky to have her and Laura share their chat as Teresa tells us about her new book Pyramid of the Moon and a little bit about herself.
Laura: What inspired you to write?
Teresa: My
imagination just wouldn't stop! I always had vivid dreams, and I'd wake up
saying "I need to write that down!"
Laura: What authors do you read?
Teresa: Usually
women authors now, but when I was younger, it was Stephen King
Laura: What type of books do you read?
Teresa: I
usually read YA or romance. I still love anything that gives you goosebumps
though! I guess a little of everything!
Laura: Could you tell us about yourself and your writing?
Teresa: Oh
jeez! LOL. I hate talking about myself. Well, my writing: I try putting myself
into the story. I love detail, and want the reader swept away with all senses.
Sight, sound, smell, taste, touch. I want you to be in the story.
Laura: How did you come up with Pyramid of the Moon?
Teresa: I've
always loved mythology. I want to write about myths and folklore that you maybe
haven't read about before.
Laura: How would you describe Pyramid of the Moon?
Teresa: I
would describe Pyramid of the Moon as a little of everything. It has romance,
mystery, action. I try adding a bit of everything without over doing it
Laura: Are your characters inspired by anyone you know?
Teresa: Not
really based on anyone specific. I picked names I've always liked though. Like
Eva, I wanted that to be my name when I got older. And Colton, Baret,
Rhys...sexy guy names!
Laura: When do some of your next books get
released?
Teresa: Marcus-Summer 2013
Sun and Moon Trilogy Book 2-Summer 2013
Sun and Moon Trilogy Book 3- Spring 2014
All She Wants- Spring 2013
Laura: What future works are you working on?
Teresa: Well,
I'm working on Pyramid of the Sun Book 2 in the series. I'm also working on a
vampire story that's different (hard to do). It will be called,
"Marcus". Also, an adult story named, "All She Wants" and
about 3 more!
Laura: What other books do you have out?
Teresa: LOL.
I have a short story out on Amzon called "Black Widow Rose" It's not
edited professionally, and I basically wrote it for fun. It was a personal
goal.
Laura: How do
you come up with the plots? Do they
write themselves, do you use an outline?
How do you work on the plots?
Teresa: I never do
an outline, because the story never stays on course!!! Sometimes, the
characters write themselves!! LOL.
Laura: Where can the fans reach out to you?
Teresa:
Laura: Goals for 2013?
Teresa: My
goals for 2013...hmm. To buy a big house for all my girls, have Pyramid of the
Moon win an award, and give each one of my girls a huge bank account with the
money. Also, go on vacation with my family to Germany where my family is from.
We all have a darker side. Nobody knows this better
than Evangeline Mason.
Her ancestors were hungry for ultimate power and now
she and her friends must pay the ultimate price for that greed. Can you imagine
feeling as if you don't belong in your own body? Life is hard when you don't
know who you truly are or what sort of evil you are capable of.
Who can she trust and who will end up betraying her?

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to chat away.
Teresa thank you for stopping by to see us. I absolutely adore the cover for your book, who did it for you? :) I'm a new writer myself and your comment on which future works on made me laugh... because I have names for about 8 of them and then there are like 22 others floating through my head :D Glad I'm not the only one who has multiple stories floating around up there. Always love reading how other authors deal with their writing, dreams, aspirations... Thanks for visiting today...I've added Pyramid of the Moon to my Goodreads list and can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything Teresa Smith has written, but I will check her out on Amazon. The Sun and Moon Trilogy books sounds quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteYou say you never do an outline... Do you ever dismiss a scene completely after spending a deal of time on it? And how do you choose which scenes are worthy of staying in, and which ones need to go?
