THE FANTASTIC

THE FANTASTIC - Elves, magicians, wizards, enchantress, witches, time travelers, ogres, leprechauns, fairies
Mythical creatures have been standing side by side with humans since the dawn of time. They have accounted for all those things we can’t explain and taken the rap for those things completely out of our control. There is such a plethora of fantasy creatures laced through thousands of books, from the English pixie to the American Bigfoot, these characters liven our days and thrill us at night.

  1. Hello everyone... so now we're talking a little more in my realm.. the fantastic. Make sure to answer the questions and participate in the poll... we'll talk about anything and everything fantastic!

For me, the fantasy creature would have to be a enchantress. That is my role in life,I think, and I'm stuck with it. I suck at the magic part but I have the aloof look down pat! The Lord of the Rings will always be my favorite with the Dragon Riders of Pern following a close second. As far as creating a fantasy world, read Starsight. It pretty much says it all. Another realm eternal room service, free spas, and magic elixirs so I could eat whatever I wanted without gaining as ounce... oh, with computers that type what you write. How about you?

  2. I dream of realms where magic infuses the world, where thought and wish become reality. I love humans with familiars and elementals. I love all possibilities.

  3. Mercedes Lackey wrote of elementals and I fell in love with the story. Unfortuantely the title escapes me at the moment.

  9. So, here are your questions:

    1. If you could be any fantasy creature what would it be and why?

I'd be a Wicked Fairy, because I think Bad girls have more fun some times, and Every girl deserves to be a little wicked.

    2. What is your favorite all time fantasy or enchantment book?

The Chronicles of Narnia is definitely high on the list, simply because it's an awesome world and you get to see Narnia through many different perspectives (if you've read all 7 books that is)

Alice is great too, Full of fantastical creatures and paradoxes.

LOR and the Hobbit was enchanting but it was more, action, less fun for me. Still in the top three though.

    3. If you were given the job of creating a fantasy world without using any known creatures, what would you invent?

    Hmm... Good Question.

    4. If you were from another realm, what would it be like?

It's colorful, very colorful, full of pretty sweet smelling flowers, the animals speak telekinetic-ally, There are plants and castles and rivers, it's really quite nice. Though there is that one place... It's deceptively nice looking but people don't come back when they go there, I think it's a portal to reality.

  10. Wow! I'm visiting your realm, Christiana! Can we still get room service and are the spas free? If so, we have a deal! I loved the chronicles. I read them to my kids when they were little... that and the Wizard of Oz series, which, by the way, is nothing like the movie!

  11. Yep there is room service, and pampering spas, and lots of sparkly items everywhere, and in my utopia, there isn't a lot of fighting, just that weird place that I think portals us back to reality. Everyone works for the better of all, and so nothing really costs anything.

Chronicles was great, as was Oz, Did you know they are talking about making another Oz movie, where Dorothy is all grown up and doesn't realize that she was The Dorothy that went to Oz, sounds weird to me.

:) Be back after I cook dinner, can't leave the old man to starve ;)
