GIVEAWAY - Deena Remiel author of the Brethren Series

Angels really do exist on earth... Evil better start running!

What can be better than angels?

How about hot angels?

Or sexy angels?

Or protective loving angels?

Deena Remiel is here today to share HER angels with us today.
She is also giving away a signed paperback copy of the first book in the series - Trinity!

So take a moment to meet Michael, Raphael & the rest of the gang.

One way or another, terror will reign tonight.

Emma Livingston, a single mom, has been through hell—and back, so she thinks. While dealing with her five year old daughter’s night terrors, she attempts to live a normal life. That is, until the being from those very nightmares comes to visit her. Has her child been dealing with a real demon while she thought he was only a figment of an active imagination?

Michael D’Angelo is known to everyone in Prophet’s Point, Arizona, as their loving elementary school principal. But to The Brethren, he is known as the most powerful Protector. Immortal and angelic does not mean he’s without doubts or fears. While trying to protect Emma and Hannah, his tortured past comes back to haunt him. Can he overcome it? Or is he doomed to repeat a failure he has lived with for what seems like an eternity?

As Emma and Michael come together to protect Hannah, ancient secrets are revealed and faith is tested. When a prophecy is exposed, questions must be answered… Can Emma learn to trust enough to love again? Can Michael believe in himself enough to show Emma how? And will they be able to protect an innocent child, not to mention save the world as they know it, from total annihilation?

Raphael, a Brethren Savior, an angel with a forgotten past, has lost his power to heal and is on a self-imposed guilt trip to get it back. If he can’t, his tour of eternal duty as Brethren Savior will be revoked. On his journey, he winds up enmeshed in a web of attempted murder and resurrection, all thanks to a woman he’s only seen in a photograph and by chance on an Arizona desert hiking trail.

Serena Sikes is a wanted woman. Desired by “undesirables” for a gift her brother gave her—a stolen relic with suspected healing powers. Hunted down in the Arizona desert and left for dead, she is found by none other than the angel who cannot heal.

Raphael and Serena are inexorably bound together, for locked deep within the relic’s heart had lived the soul of his long lost wife. Now, it resides inside Serena. Evil lurks around every corner as Raphael tries to keep both Serena and his dead wife’s soul alive and lustful temptation at bay.

Three souls bound together by an ancient relic, bound by a timeless gift, and bound by a love that is eternal.

The Brethren. Who are they and why are they here? Discover the origins of these enigmatic angels manifested on Earth for millennia. Lose yourself in their compelling stories of human salvation and triumph over Evil.

**This is an anthology of three short urban fantasy stories that were originally part of an online serial. It is meant to be a companion to the Brethren series, and not necessarily a stand alone, but can be read as such. It brings us closer to three of the nine Brethren, Gabriel, Nathanael, and Cassiel- who they are and what they do. There are more stories to come. There is no romance here, but plenty of hot-blooded angel!

  1. Where do you get your inspiration from?

  2. Congrats on the new release! This series sound fantastic! Definitely going to be adding to my wishlist :)

  3. I get my inspiration from many places. First, the mountains near my home whispered to me and spoke of angels. Then, my inspiration comes from stories I've read, movies I've watched, the life I've led, and the people around me. :D

  4. Thanks, Erin! I love this series, and ELIXXIR, third book in the series will be releasing soon... ;)

  5. Congrats on such an amazing series!! Can't wait for the third book! :)

  6. Thanks, Ruthi! It's a fave storyline of mine, that's for sure! ;)

  7. Would love to win wishes to you Deena!! I will be honest I haven't read any of your books...How is this series different from others like it out there? Thanks for your time!!!

  8. Wendy, my angels are of the superhero variety, and they're complicated. LOL None have fallen, but they all have pasts that shape who they are today. Although they've signed an eternal contract and manifested on earth to protect and save the human race from Evil, their enigmatic boss sometimes puts a monkey wrench in their plans. To what end, you might ask? You'll have to read to find out! :)

  9. Raphael and Serena are here to answer any questions you might have... :D

  10. Congrats Deena on your new release!! Question for Raphael and Serena, thou I havent read your story, do you believe in love at first sight??

  11. RAPHAEL: You know, as much as I fought against it, I do. There was no denying my immediate attraction to Serena, body and soul, but I fought against it. Miserably, I might add. LOL

SERENA: I do believe in love at first sight, but there must be more to back it up. I good heart, a good soul, and a belief that love is eternal.

RAPHAEL: Are you quoting me, Serena, sweetheart? You're gonna make me blush! Ha ha!

SERENA: Aw, I've got other ways to make you blush...

  12. this series sounds amazing and I look forward to reading it. How much research do you do when you write a book?

  13. Hi Gale,
It depends on the story. I've been able to do a decent amount of groundwork that you'll never see in the book per se, on angels in general. I did this to determine who and what I wanted my angels to be. Then, I research my settings. Luckily, my books are set in Arizona where I live, so I can go to particular places for whatever questions I have. For stories I've written outside this series, I use the internet extensively. Thanks for the question!

  14. Will do you another story for Hannah?

  15. Do u have any other series in the works

  16. Bella,

After Elixxir, the next book to be released, Hannah's story will be revealed. I intend on a spin-off series for her. If you've read Trinity, you'll know why that's a tantalizing idea... ;)

  17. Amber,

I do have another series! It's a horror/romance series called, The Book Waitress Series. Imagine a combo of Buffy, Angel, and The Librarian all rolled into one. I'm so excited about it! The first novella should be ready for release some time in August. You can visit and join the fan page on facebook to get all the latest info...

  18. I was wondering what piqued your interest in angels? Did you have any real life close encounters or is it just your favorite pararnormal?
Thanks for the signed book. I always love to have a signed book ;)

  19. Why did you choose angels to write about?

  20. Jody,

When I began thinking about writing novels, angels were only a blip on the radar. They were maybe a couple of authors, at best, and they were writing about fallen angels. I've never had any close encounters, but my belief is strong, and my belief in angels as superheroes, even stronger. :)

  21. WildCardB*tches,

I may have answered your question above, but I can extend that answer and include these thoughts...
I wanted to create a world with a group of immortals that hadn't been explored as of yet, where angels walk among us and are superheroes with complicated pasts when we meet them. There is no question that they fight on the side of the Good, however, that is not to say they don't have their issues with keeping Evil from insinuating itself into their lives... ;)

  22. Deena do you have a picture in your mind of how your novels will flow, do you plot it all out on 1000 post it notes, make a book of the details of the books?

  23. Your books sound amazing!

Do you have trouble making the characters as you see them in your head? Or does that come easy for you?
I added your books to my TBR pile.
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  24. Carin,

I make detailed character bios and then sketch out my story in either a couple of paragraphs or bullet-style. So I know where I'm starting and where I'm ending. I have some key points that I know I want to include in the middle. But other than that, I write organically. That means I listen to the characters, I listen to the story that's unfolded to this point and it comes together to lead me through it all.

  25. Autumn,

Creating my characters is one of the first things I do and the most important. I do a lot of visualizing of the physical nature of my peeps, and then I stare off into nothing a lot as I conjure up personalities and back stories to substantiate why they are the way they are. I also determine at that time how they will change over the course of the story, a dark moment from their past that will shape decisions in the present, and so on.

  26. Deena I have a question!! hehe! As far as your detailed character bios/back stories go... do you have a list of questions somewhere that you use? I'm trying my hand at writing and I'd love some questions to ask my characters but I didn't want to do a random one online because then I might have 1 billion questions LOL! ;) Do you have a list you might share with me for character/backstory questions? :) If not, a place to send me that you know of that has good ones? :) I'm just unsure where to start being so new and all *hugs* thanks for visiting us on the blog Deena... we love you!

  27. Hot, superhero angels--win, win and win. :) Sounds like an amazing series. I can't wait to read it.

  28. I am so looking forward to starting your books Deena! And it was great to meet you at Az. Dreamin' this year, can't wait for next year!

  29. Chelsea, great question. ;) I don't use a list. I treat the character as though they were real. So, when you first meet a person, all you know is their name, right? But you want to know so much more. Ask those questions of your character and let them answer. That's how my characters are born. I'm a nosy bugger and therefore I get to ask all the nosy questions about who they are and where they came from and why they behave the way they do. And they always tell me. They don't hold back. LOL

  30. Looking forward to reading your books!! Have had some friends recommend them!!
